Keynote Announces Web Site Perspective 6.5

Greatly Enhanced Alerting Systems When Web Application Performance Degrades

SAN MATEO, California – December 10, 2002 – Keynote Systems, the global leader in Web performance management and testing services, today announced the latest version of its flagship service, Web Site Perspective® 6.5, which delivers state-of-the-art alarm and alert functionality that better helps IT manage its critical Web applications and systems when performance degrades. Enhanced alarms and alerts speeds the time to repair and minimizes negative impact to the bottom line.

The new version allows operations personnel to manage Web performance alarms more efficiently and effectively. Web Site Perspective 6.5 gives customers complete control to customize alarm escalations, along with who receives the alarm at each escalation level, based entirely on the specific needs and requirements of the IT organization. Web Site Perspective 6.5 provides flexible and granular alarm criteria with faster set-up options and enhanced alarm notification and escalation functionality. Customers can now determine the alarm escalation path based on the criticality of the alert, so from NOC personnel to the CIO, appropriate IT personnel are quickly notified, improving communication within an organization and reducing the costs associated with e-business downtime.

Businesses are driving more and more revenue through their e-business systems. According to the US Department of Commerce, consumers will spend $44.1 billion online during calendar year 2002, thrusting the importance of optimizing end-user experience to the forefront. In addition to helping companies better manage their own e-business systems, the new granularity of data in Web Site Perspective 6.5 allows businesses to better manage specific Internet Services Providers (ISPs) through the delivery of alarm set-up options on specific, isolated backbones.

Web Site Perspective 6.5 also delivers multiple alerts for the same measurement, allowing different NOC shift personnel to leverage the same settings; configuration of multiple reusable format templates for alerts, making set up and editing faster; multiple maintenance windows and the ability to apply global settings to multiple alarms at the same time streamlining alarm management while maintaining ease of use. Customers now have total control of the content of their alerts since each alert is completely configurable and custom text can be added if necessary. Keynote has the ability to deliver alarms via SNMP to any standard Enterprise Management Console or event management systems.

"Keynote alarms have always been effective in notifying us when slowdowns do occur in our e-business systems, said Chris D`Agostino, Manager of Systems Development at Boise Office Solutions. "Understanding the performance of our e-business systems from our users` perspective is absolutely critical. Ensuring premium quality of experience for our customers has always been a commitment for Boise Office Solutions. Keynote`s services help us maintain that commitment."

"The functionality introduced in Web Site Perspective 6.5 is designed to add flexibility to alarm management, simplify alarm configuration and maintenance for companies monitoring multiple URL`s and provide a means of efficient communication between IT personnel so that time to corrective action is minimized," said Matt Parks, director of product management at Keynote.

Web Site Perspective 6.5 underscores Keynote`s commitment to provide "Total Performance Management" solutions to its customers. Total performance management is comprised of complete end-to-end solutions delivered by Keynote and Keypartners for benchmarking, diagnosing, testing and managing the performance of e-business applications and systems.
