Vans Shoes guarantees delivery with web-based logistics tool
Vans Inc., a designer and retailer of footwear, has deployed a web-based transportation cost management system to guarantee delivery times to customers.
Vans, which sells through its own network of 178 stores and over Vans.com, has implemented the web-based ShipINFO transportation cost management system from enVista Corp. The ShipINFO system provides single viewing access to shipping information from multiple carriers, such as United Parcel Service and Federal Express, enabling Vans to get updates on any interruptions to scheduled deliveries to customers. If shipments miss their delivery times, Vans collects refunds from its carriers, the company says.
"Since we started using ShipINFO we have gained increased visibility of our carrier`s performance, which has led to increased customer satisfaction and an enhanced partnership with our carriers," says Donald Petersen, vice president of logistics for Vans.
Vans designs and sells a range of recreational sports footwear and related items including snowboard boots and bindings and outdoor apparel.
