WebTrends launches first upgrade in two years to WebPosition Gold
Analytics provider WebTrends launches the first upgrade in two years to its WebPosition Gold with version 3, which integrates with other WebTrends tools and services to allow customers to manage their entire search optimization process in one interface. Customers using WebPosition Gold 3 can conduct keyword research through the integrated WordTracker service, increase visibility and improve search engine positions with WebPostion Gold 3, and understand conversions and revenue from search engines with WebTrends On Demand software and solutions.
Specifically, version 3`s WordTracker keyword module now covers more than 50% more keywords than the version available to the general public, according to the company; as well as activity on more than double the number of search engines as the previous version. WebPosition Gold 3 also differentiates the performance of organic versus paid listings and tracks and analyzes results for engines and keywords all the way through conversion and ROI through integration with WebTrends (which requires a separate purchase).
As with the previous version, WebPostion Gold 3 generates specific recommendations on page optimization through its Page Critic module. It breaks out web pages and provides statistics on frequency and prominence of keywords and different areas of a page, comparing them to an industry index of top-performing sites as well as to the sites of competitors. “These statistics then kick out recommendations, for example, that top-performing sites in the index are including the keyword x-number of times on their homepage,” says Coleen Carey, director of marketing for WebPosition Gold.
“SEO is not a one-time event, so Page Critic alerts you to activities you should consider as things change,” she says. “Page Critic is offered as an ongoing service that is updated continually, so if there are changes in the SEO environment you are alerted and given a recommendation on something you may want to consider as a response.”
