CompactAppliance builds revenue with automated e-mail campaigns
When a customer buys a refrigerator at CompactAppliance.com, she’s likely to receive an automatically generated e-mail message weeks later offering an extended warranty or information about filter replacements. The tactic has boosted sales, Jason Roussos, senior vice president of strategic development, tells Internet Retailer.
CompactAppliance deployed a combined site analytics and e-mail campaign management system last summer from Manticore Technology, choosing it over other more expensive analytics tools that didn’t offer the same level of integration with marketing systems, Roussos says. "We’ve definitely seen an increase in revenue due to e-mail," he says.
The Manticore system also lets CompactAppliance see the results of e-mail campaigns as well as online merchandising, including click-through rates and the number of purchased products, to help better plan future campaigns. "From a particular e-mail, I can see that 100 people looked at a particular product and that 10 purchased it," Roussos says.
