E-commerce boosting sales for small wineries

Lail Vineyards in California’s Napa Valley has increased its direct-to-consumer sales after implementing a new online sales management system. "In a few short months, our direct sales increased by a substantial margin," vice president Tim Martin says.

Lail operates its web sales with the Cultivate 1.0 sales management system from Cultivate Systems. The web-based enterprise system provides an integrated suite for customer database management, mailing list sign-ups, loyalty club management, store POS transactions, and management of fulfillment, inventory and accounting, Cultivate says. Cultivate notes that its small-winery clients processed more than $15 million in e-commerce sales in the 12 months ended July 31.

"Cultivate 1.0’s ability to integrate database and inventory systems with our web site has significantly reduced our administrative headaches," adds Martin.
