WASHINGTON, D.C., January 8, 2003—Shop.org, a division of the National Retail Federation (NRF), and Forrester Research, Inc. (Nasdaq: FORR) will complete the sixth annual State of Retailing Online survey for release in early May, expanding Forrester’s role in this leading industry publication. Shop.org is currently inviting retailers to participate in the study. Participation is open to all retailers selling online in the United States.
“Shop.org encourages retailers to participate in our annual study, which is the most authoritative and comprehensive industry research based on retailer-reported data,” said Scott Silverman, Executive Director of Shop.org. “We’re excited about our partnership with Forrester Research and the opportunity to leverage their renowned industry expertise to ensure that our study remains an invaluable tool to Internet and multichannel retailers.”
This year’s study is expected to continue to define key metrics like conversion rates and customer acquisition costs, as well as further examine the Internet’s impact on overall retail in a multichannel environment. The State of Retailing Online 6.0 will also include a forecast for expected online retail sales in 2003 as well as the projected market share penetration of online sales compared with estimated 2003 overall retail sales.
