eBay dominates traffic to apparel/beauty sites, study says
Among the top 10 retail apparel/beauty products web sites in terms of the number of unique visitors, eBay ranks first and second for the week ended Aug. 1 with its Clothing, Shoes & Accessories site at Clothing.eBay.com, with 1.9 million visitors, and its Jewelry, Gemstones & Watches site at Jewelry.eBay.com, with 967,000 visitors Nielsen/NetRatings reports.
Ranked third was Avon.com, with 662,000 visitors, followed by VictoriasSecret.com, with 492,000; Gap.com, with 454,000; OldNavy.com, 448,000; LandsEnd.com, 431,000; Zappos.com, 383,000; LLBean.com, 382,000; and Abercrombie & Fitch, 344,000.
EBay’s Clothing, Shoes & Accessories ranked at the bottom of the top 10, however, in terms of time per visit. Mary Kay ranked first with 18 minutes, 45 seconds, followed by Avon, 11 minutes, 37 seconds; Victoria’s Secret, 11 minutes, 22 seconds; L.L. Bean, 10 minutes, 15 seconds; Old Navy, 9 minutes, 57 seconds; eBay Jewelry, Gemstones & Watches, 8 minutes, 52 seconds; Lands’ End, 8 minutes, 29 seconds; Abercrombie & Fitch, 7 minutes, 49 seconds; American Eagle, 6 minutes, 57 seconds; and eBay Clothing, Shoes & Accessories, 6 minutes, 49 seconds.
For the same week, Nielsen’s AdRelevance report noted that the food-and-beverage products category garnered the most online advertising impressions at 405.2 million.
