Gateway expands its multi-channel retail strategy
PC maker Gateway, which closed its 188 retail locations in April, will begin selling its products through 226 CompUSA stores and CompUSA.com this week, Gateway said today. "This represents another significant step forward in ensuring that the Gateway brand is widely available at the retail outlets where our customers shop," said Wayne Inouye, Gateway`s president and CEO.
Gateway began developing a strategy of selling through other retailers following its merger in March with eMachines Inc., which had already been selling through retailers in the U.S., the U.K. and Japan. Gateway also sells through Best Buy, Office Depot, Costco, HSN and other retailers.
