Barnes & Noble.com Q2 sales decline 6%
Sales at Barnes & Noble.com fell 6% year-over-year, to $84.5 million from $89.6 million for the second quarter ended July 31, the retailer said today. It posted a Q2 net loss of $7.6 million.
Barnes & Noble.com had $176 million in sales for the first half, but didn’t report year-ago figures. It said it expects net sales to range between $85 million and $95 million in the third quarter.
Barnes & Noble.com, No. 19 in Internet Retailer’s Top 300 Guide to Internet Retailers, was acquired in May by Barnes & Noble Inc., which operates 657 Barnes & Noble stores as well as 183 B. Dalton stores and 1,676 GameStop stores.
