ClickCadence expands its outsourced services

ClickCadence, developer of the BeatBox appliance that monitors web site performance, is providing a new managed service that expands the company’s offerings beyond the managed services it provides already, Mike Dickey, president, tells Internet Retailer.

BeatBox monitors performance then reports problems to a web site staff. While ClickCadence has offered it as an appliance that e-retailers buy and run themselves and as an outsourced service to help customers create the reports they need to improve web site performance, it is now providing guidance on the changes that web sites need to perform better.

“We found that customers have changing needs and needed help in what to look for and how to implement changes,” Dickey says. “There is a market for fully managed solutions.”

The company expects that strategy will broaden the market for the BeatBox. “We’re opening our technology now so it’s available to the entirety of the market,” Dickey says.

Customer reaction to the managed services offering has been very good, Dickey says, noting, however, that the company has 50 large retail sites that have bought BeatBox as an appliance. “We’ve had lots of success selling technology as an appliance for customers who want to do data warehousing and get their hands dirty,” he says.
