360Commerce Point-of-Sale and Back Office Rollout Provides K•B Toys With Instant Rewards
Java Solution on Linux Brings Improved Customer Service and Store Performance at Reduced Cost
Austin, Texas (August 18, 2003) – As part of an overall technology plan designed to contribute to K•B Toy’s vision of reduced operating costs and excellent customer service, 360Commerce’s 360Store™ Point-of-Sale and Back Office applications will be rolled out in all K•B Toys stores nationally.
With the implementation of the new software, K•B Toys will find it easier to enhance cash control features, automate complex promotions, manage returns, validate product warranties and provide an outstanding customer experience, which are K•B Toy’s top priorities.
“We are excited about the return on investment we are seeing with this project,” said Keith Porter, vice president of information systems at K•B Toys. “We have addressed several key technology focus areas with this rollout, which will provide both immediate results and long-term returns. Being able to combine technology initiatives with our strong focus on customer service gives us the best of both worlds. In addition, choosing the leading Java store systems solution has given us the flexibility to make key decisions based on our evolving needs throughout this process, including those centered around deployment options and operating systems.”
The new solution will be rolled out on the Linux operating system. “Because of the openness of our store systems solution, K•B Toys will be able to more easily enhance their system in the future and integrate to other additional applications,” said Christine Lowry, chief marketing officer of 360Commerce. “K•B Toys has been building their ideal technology infrastructure for several years. The solution from 360Commerce allows K•B Toys to take advantage of the new technology they have implemented, such as a frame network, browser-based capabilities and real-time access to data, and ties it all together neatly.”
360Commerce’s next–generation Point-of-Sale and Back Office will allow K•B Toys associates to bring customer service to an entirely new level through the addition of advanced functionality to serve cross-channel customers. The new solution from 360Commerce enables K•B Toys to automate the process of cross-channel returns, giving K•B Toys customers the ability to make a purchase on the K•B Toys website and return that purchase in any of K•B Toy’s 1,300 stores nationwide. K•B Toys expects to improve overall store performance, improve the timeliness and availability of crucial data, and more effectively control costs.
