Dallas, Texas - January 13, 2003 - The viaLink Company (OTCBB: VLNK)
commented today on the strong growth in customer contracts experienced
by
the company in 2002. The company said that it signed almost 50% more
total
agreements, with new customers and existing customers for renewed or
expanded services, in 2002 than in 2001. The company further noted that
the
positive trend continued to build through the second half of the year.
"We are very pleased with our growth in 2002, especially in the context
of
the overall economy and limitations on technology spending imposed in
many
companies," said Bob Noe, president of viaLink. "We are particularly
proud
of achieving solid growth from the third to the fourth quarter this past
year. Historically, we have seen a decrease in contracts signed from
the
third quarter to the fourth quarter of the year. This year, we overcame
the
end-of-the-year slowdown many have come to expect in this industry."
The company said that the number of contracts signed increased by 70% in
the
second half of 2002 over the first half and that the number signed in
the
fourth quarter represented more than two and one half times as many
contracts as were signed in the fourth quarter of 2001 and a 7% increase
over the number signed in the third quarter of 2002.
"Our strong growth rate underscores the industry`s progress and building
momentum on data synchronization," concluded Noe.
The company does not expect to release its financial results until
sometime
in early March.
