800.com does a full-store rebate promotion

Portland, OR-based 800.com, an online electronics retailer, has just started a new promotion to increase conversion rates and average order size. The online retailer is giving rebate gift checks worth $50 on purchases that total $298 to $598, gift checks worth $75 for purchases that total $599 to $998, and gift checks worth $100 on purchases of $999 or more.

The gift checks are mailed to customers and they can use them on purchases at 800.com within 90 days.

The company says the gift check program is part of an overall promotional strategy geared toward providing customers with value while helping the company hit its profitability and gross margin targets. The promotion is running from Aug. 20 through Sept. 26. 800.com is supporting the promotion with e-mail, portal advertising, affiliates marketing programs as well as postcard notification to its preferred customer base.
