Family Dollar launches new web site

Not all re-vamped web sites are trying to boost Internet sales. Charlotte, NC-based Family Dollar, a discount chain, re-launched its web site today and its most prominent features are store schematics to help shoppers find merchandise in the stores and maps to help shoppers find stores.

Shoppers can click on a virtual tour icon to take a look at a typical Family Dollar store, enter their address to find a nearby store and fill out a job application.

"We want our customers, investors and prospective employees to be able to access the information they need quickly and easily. Our new site does just that," said Howard Levine, President and CEO.

Family Dollar, which operates 4,100 stores in 39 states, said its new web design is part of a strategy to expand name recognition and market presence. Tivoli Partners, a Charlotee, NC-based marketing and ad agency, designed and implemented the new site.
