Ann Taylor will sell its new Collection line online
Ann Taylor Stores Corp. is slowly releasing details of its upcoming line of more expensive clothing and accessories.
The new line of merchandise will be called Collection and will sell online at AnnTaylor.com and in some stores within the next month, the company says in a new regulatory filing. The line targets affluent women willing to spend more on designer clothing.
The Collection line will be priced 40% higher than other Ann Taylor merchandise.
In conjunction with its new clothing and accessories brand, Ann Taylor, No. 115 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide, also recently updated its e-commerce sites with improved navigation and check-out features “Our online businesses also experienced a strong quarter,” Ann Taylor says in the regulatory finding. The company didn’t break out e-commerce sales.
In the second quarter, Ann Taylor posted net income of $31.7 million on net sales of $614.5 million, compared with net income of $43.2 million on revenue of $610 million in the prior year.
