American Eagle launches a new video series on the web and in stores
Apparel retailer American Eagle Outfitters has launched an entertainment series of video content that it will offer to consumers at its shopping site, ae.com, on YouTube, Facebook and MySpace, in stores and on TV.
The videos will be a combination of American Eagle original content as well as videos contributed by consumers in several genres, including music, comedy, drama and reality programming. American Eagle calls the entertainment platform 77Entertainment. It debuted this week with "It`s a Mall World," a 12-episode series directed by Milo Ventimiglia of NBC TV`s "Heroes."
"Creating and delivering relevant content is another way for American Eagle to maintain a lasting connection with its customers, as well as promote discovery by introducing them to new artists," says Kathy Savitt, executive vice president and chief marketing officer of American Eagle, No. 56 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide. "By making 77E content available online, in stores and on television, American Eagle is aligned with how our customers live their lives every day."
“It’s a Mall World” features the lives of two record store employees, a greeter at the American Eagle store across the way, a young woman who works in a lingerie store and a young man from the mall juice bar.
