Speedera Networks Thrives in 2002: Becomes the Fastest Growing Company in the CDN Industry

Revenue Increases over 200%; Customer Acquisition Soars; Debt is Eliminated

Santa Clara, Calif. —January 28, 2003—While many technology companies are looking back on 2002 with a sigh of relief, Speedera Networks Inc., the emerging leader in global content delivery services, deems it a year of outstanding success. Reaching a long list of significant milestones in 2002, Speedera saw over 200% revenue growth, was awarded two patents on core technology, acquired major new customers such as DoubleClick, Fox Broadcasting, Network Associates and Microsoft, was recognized with eight industry awards and became the first pure play content delivery network (CDN) to reach operating income positive and eliminate all debt.

"While many companies were struggling to survive the economic downturn in 2002, Speedera was thriving," said Ajit Gupta, CEO and president of Speedera Networks. "We established ourselves as the industry`s price-performance leader, reached record sales levels, innovated through new services and technology, and acquired customers by focusing relentlessly on customer service and support. That recipe, coupled with the industry`s best business model, led Speedera through our most successful year to-date."

Speedera did not allow innovation to stagnate during 2002, but rather added new functionality to its suite of services and leveraged key partnerships. New services include dynamic imaging via a partnership with TrueSpectra, and new security services including Secure Download and Secure Content Delivery, which safeguard Web sites against various security threats such as distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks. Speedera also announced its support for Microsoft Windows Media 9 Series platform this year.

Speedera also saw myriad vertical markets - such as Internet commerce, digital media delivery, media and entertainment, government and online ad delivery - turning to its CDN services to increase scalability, site performance and the bottom line. In addition to those mentioned above, organizations like the National Guard, Macromedia, IFILM and American Eagle Outfitters are just a sampling of customers who signed on with Speedera this year.

Speedera was recognized with several industry awards this year, including being named to Forbes` "Best of the Web" B2B Directory, UPSIDE Magazine`s 2002 Hot 100 companies list, and the 2002 Codie Award for "Best Internet Facilitation Service" from the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA). Speedera`s CDN is one of the largest content delivery networks in the world, with connectivity to over 1000 carrier backbones and with points of presence in the Americas, Europe and the Asia-Pacific region. Speedera`s network is rated as the fastest and most consistent CDN by independent third party tests.

"2002 was a great year for Speedera and we`re excited to be carrying this momentum forward into 2003. Our goal will be the same one we set for ourselves every year - to lead this industry. At the same time, we will make sure that customer satisfaction remains one of the cornerstones of our company. Only satisfied customers give us the winning edge to be successful," concluded Gupta.
