Saab adds Scene7 "dynamic zoom and pan" to highlight product details

Novato, California, September 9, 2003 - Scene7, the leading provider of dynamic imaging software, today announced that Saab Cars USA, Inc. () has licensed Scene7`s Infinite Imaging (TM) Platform to enhance the presentation of its automobile features for online customers. Saab Cars USA, Inc. the US importer of Saab 9-5 and 9-3 automobiles for Saab Automobile AB, recently added sophisticated image zooming to promote specific features and dynamic panning which allows customers to navigate to any image detail desired.

"Scene7 offers innovative and unique visualization technology to accentuate the fine aspects of our automobile lines. Our consumer research highlighted the need for much bigger and better product images. And now we are improving the overall online experience for customers by providing exceptional imagery to showcase important features of our products. Initial results show a marked increase in traffic for those areas of our website that utilize Scene7`s image serving capabilities," said Robert Henry, Manager, E-commerce, CRM Solutions, Saab Cars USA, Inc.

Saab chose Scene7`s platform after reviewing a number of vendor solutions - what most impressed Saab was Scene7`s quick response and "just in time" detailed viewing which streams the requested image area and works well at all bandwidths, in particular dial-up. In addition, Scene7`s hosted advanced visual merchandising option allows Saab`s E-commerce group to easily and quickly incorporate dynamic zooming and panning on its site - without requiring new hardware, software or IT support.

Utilizing Scene7`s hosted "Dynamic Imaging On Demand" network, Saab uses Scene7`s browser-based Image Production System to load, set zoom target areas and drive other visual enhancements, then publish this imagery directly to Scene7`s image serving network. This network drives the dynamic viewing for Saab`s current model lineup, the sporty 9-3 and luxury 9-5 lines, on SaabUSA.com.

"We`re excited to partner with one of the nation`s leading automobile companies. Saab is using our platform to improve its merchandising flexibility -- providing powerful visual information to help its customers during the decision-making process," states Doug Mack, CEO of Scene7. "With our hosted image serving solution, we can offer customers like Saab an immediate ROI at a minimal investment cost."

Later this year, Saab plans to extend its use of Scene7`s platform by adding more advanced visual imagery for its product lines.
