Wine.com by eVineyard and Harry & David team up for the holidays


Wine.com by eVineyard is teaming up with gourmet food gift retailer Harry & David to offer gift baskets with wine on its web site for the holidays, Brett Lauter, vice president of marketing and sales and chief marketing officer of Wine.com by eVineyard, tells InternetRetailer.com. The deal will enter a soft launch next week and the companies will start promoting it by early October.

Harry & David is owned by Bear Creek Corp., a major investor in Wine.com by eVineyard. The co-marketing program will allow customers to buy the baskets from Wine.com by eVineyard or link to the site from the Harry & David web site, harryanddavid.com. The two companies will share the revenue from gift baskets, says Lauter. Wine.com by eVineyard will market the new products through its co-marketing agreements with other online partners as well as through e-mail to its base of more than 500,000 customers.
