Museum Shop.com adds Chicago’s Art Institute store to online line-up
MuseumShop.com has launched a new online boutique for The Art Institute of Chicago. The expansion of The Art Institute’s museum store onto the web coincides with the opening in Chicago of a major new exhibit, “Van Gogh and Gaugin: The Studio of the South,” that features more than 150 works by the two artists. In addition to products specifically related to the exhibit, a selection of more than 50 items from the Art Institute’s store will be offered at the online boutique. MuseumShop.com, which features more than 3,000 products from more than 75 museum partners throughout the world, markets its site directly to online consumers and will manage the logistics, customer service and fulfillment of online orders.
“We’re delighted to be able, for the first time, to offer the Art Institute’s unique products to consumers through the web,” says Elizabeth Grainer, executive director of retail marketing for the Art Institute.
