August sales at Perfume.com reached $117,000, up 143% from $48,000 in August 2003, the company tells InternetRetailer.com. The site launched in June 2003.
The Vancouver, BC-based company reports that it spent less than $7,000 in 2003 on marketing for Perfume.com. It believes that most of its business came as a result of having an intuitively branded domain name. The company has spent $30,000 on marketing so far this year.
The company recently expanded its offerings to include hair care and skin care products.
