Online retail sales rose 35% for the week ended Sept. 5, to $1.254 billion from $932 million in the comparable week a year ago, comScore Networks Inc. reports.

In comparison, total retail sales for the week ended Sept. 4 rose 3.3% year-over-year, according to ShopperTrak’s National Retail Sales Estimate.

Online travel sales for the week ended Sept. 5 rose 34% over the comparable year-ago period, to $940 million from $700 million, comScore reports.
