Circuit City starts e-mailing sweepstakes and shipping promotion
CircuitCity.com has started sending customer e-mails promoting its Expo program, in which sales associates give live demonstrations of products in order to give customers previews for the holiday shopping season.
The e-mail includes information on an online sweepstakes, in which customers can win items that the Expo is featuring. The e-mail also tells customers they can get free shipping this week. The HTML message includes pictures and listings of featured Circuit City items, such as DVD players and a 50-pack of CD disks.
The Expo section of the web site explains the program and gives customers the schedule of live in-store demonstrations of new technology and products. The web site also highlights such products as HDTV, broadband and ultimate TV.
Circuit City plans to offer product demonstrations every weekend from September 30 through November 3.
