Outpost.com will sell Audible Inc. content
Cyberian Outpost Inc.’s Outpost.com will sell Audible Inc.’s spoken word content at its site. Customers will be able to buy and download Audible’s 32,000 hours of audio content from the web site as well as buy annual subscriptions to Audible’s content. Outpost will also sell Audible’s AudibleRelay portable playback device at a discount from retail when customers buy it in conjunction with an Audible annual subscription. Audible’s content also plays on PCs.
"This new relationship is part of a general effort at Audible to increase distribution by exposing our popular audio services to appropriate customer bases," said Foy Sperring, senior vice president, Strategic Alliances, Audible Inc.
Audible.com features daily audio editions of The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and Los Angeles Times -- all available on a subscription basis in time for the morning drive to work each day--as well as The Economist, Forbes, Harvard Business Review, Scientific American and C-SPAN. The site also offers a audiobook best sellers and classics, as well as speeches, lectures, and on-demand radio programs.
