Lawson Signs Multi-Suite Contract With W. S. Badcock Corporation Home Furnishings Giant to Streamline Business Processes
ST. PAUL, Minn.--Sept. 30, 2003--Lawson Software, Inc. (Nasdaq:LWSN) signed a multi-suite contract with W.S. Badcock Corporation in Lawson`s first quarter, which ended Aug. 31, for Lawson`s Financial, Human Resources, Distribution and Procurement Suites. The solutions will help bring Badcock`s business processes together for more than 320 stores located throughout the Southeast United States and will provide the company`s 1,300 employees with access to critical business information, enabling the organization to make more informed business decisions.
Lack of access, the inability to drill around supporting information and reliance on the IT department to write reports pushed W.S. Badcock to search for an enterprise software solution that could unite information from various departments and improve overall net profitability. "Our decision to implement Lawson Software throughout the company is not just a conversion from disparate, home-grown systems into an integrated application solution - it`s part of a strategic IT plan," said Leo Hurtado, CIO, W.S. Badcock Corporation. "We were looking for a world-class organization that could support us during our rapid growth plan. Lawson`s network-centric, thin-client computing platform will provide smooth information flow across the enterprise to help us make well-informed decisions regarding our future."
"Lawson will provide Badcock with an infrastructure that will enable the organization to proactively and cost-effectively manage the effects of a dynamic retail industry," said Carol Mackenzie, retail market director at Lawson. "We understand the unique needs of retailers and have been serving this industry for more than 27 years."
Lawson`s Retail Enterprise was developed specifically for high-volume retailers to improve net profitability by helping to increase revenues, reduce costs and more effectively deploy their workforce. Lawson Retail Enterprise encompasses Enterprise Operations, Retail Operations, Enterprise Visibility and Retail InSight - a single set of solutions that includes merchandising, supply chain, store operations, financials, human resources, procurement and enterprise performance management.
Lawson`s industry-focused software solutions enable retailers to integrate the systems they use to run and grow their businesses.
