Syncra EventsTM coordinates the planning of promotional events and significantly increases supply chain efficiency
Dallas – Marketechnics – February 24, 2003 – Syncra Systems, Inc., the leading provider of value chain collaboration solutions, today announced the availability of Syncra EventsTM, the newest application in the Syncra® product suite. By collaboratively planning and forecasting promotions and other demand-impacting events, the new tool directly addresses the supply chain volatility and uncertainty that typically lead to stock outs and excess inventory. Given the high percentage of product volume sold on promotions, the result is higher sales and a significantly more efficient supply chain.
Syncra Events helps both retailers and manufacturers coordinate the details and lifecycle of temporary price reductions, new product introductions, store openings, and other special events that dramatically affect demand, while greatly improving the accuracy and efficiency of the promotion planning and execution process. With Syncra Events, companies can engage customers and/or suppliers in volume planning and logistics, handle any exceptions as they occur, and evaluate performance for the improvement of future promotional events.
Syncra Events is implemented in conjunction with Syncra XtTM, Syncra’s fifth-generation open value chain collaboration platform. Customers can use Syncra Xt to implement a single Syncra application to solve a particular business problem (such as Syncra Events for promotional events), or deploy the full Syncra Xt application suite to manage the full range of value chain collaboration initiatives across their customer/supplier networks. The Syncra Xt platform provides highly flexible and scalable data aggregation, allocation, exception management, metrics calculation, reporting, security, and collaboration facilities for all the applications in the environment.
In addition to promotional event collaboration, Syncra Xt supports applications that address the large-scale, multi-tier deployments of the following critical business-to-business processes:

• Continuous replenishment
• Collaborative Planning, Forecasting and Replenishment (CPFR®)
The Syncra Xt platform can also work with a customer’s existing enterprise applications and turn them into web-based collaborative applications supporting all the steps of the CPFR Guidelines.
