Yahoo integrates all its shopping channels into a single shopping network

Yahoo Inc. has launched the new Yahoo Shopping network with a new discount shopping platform, Yahoo Warehouse. The new network will provide consumers with easier access to multiple shopping options.

With the new network, Yahoo`s search results will combine results from across all of Yahoo`s commerce properties -- Auctions, Shopping, Classifieds and Warehouse, allowing consumers to shop and compare merchandise from brand-name retailers, auctions and warehouse sellers, large and small merchants, as well as local items found in classifieds.

It will offer consumers used, overstocked and clearance commodity goods such as movies and books at a variety of discounted prices.

"Yahoo continues to strengthen its leadership position in the commerce arena by building upon its unique and powerful global franchise," said Tim Brady, senior vice president, network services. "We are pleased, after extensive market research and consumer outreach, to offer shoppers one comprehensive commerce site and to provide merchants and sellers with greater access to and visibility with the world`s largest buying audience on the web."

Yahoo says merchants and sellers will benefit from the new integration in a number of ways. Sellers will be able to leverage their seller rating on the new Yahoo Shopping network, based on the positive reputations they have built on other Yahoo commerce properties. A seller on Yahoo Auctions has greater opportunity to promote their listings to buyers shopping in other areas of the network who may not have considered bidding on an item previously. Additionally, Yahoo Shopping merchants will now have the ability to merchandise their products direct to Yahoo! Auctions, Classifieds and Warehouse audiences.

The new addition, Yahoo Warehouse, will offer used, overstocked and clearance commodity goods including books, music, movies, games computers and electronics. Shoppers will have access to items from individual sellers as well as distributors, retailers, liquidators and wholesalers. Yahoo anticipates launching Warehouse with more than 2 million product listings from individuals and companies such as abebooks.com, AlphaCraze.com and TigerDirect.com. Yahoo Warehouse will allow sellers to list items at no cost and will charge a commission fee that varies based on an items` selling price.
