EC Payments Council gets three new co-chairs
The Electronic Funds Transfer Association has appointed three co-chairs for its Electronic Commerce Payments Council, an inter-industry forum for retailers, financial institutions, networks, payment solution providers and regulators to explore e-commerce payment issues.
The new co-chairs are Steven W. Klebe, vice president of strategic alliances, payment and risk at CyberSource Corp., Don P. Moehrke, executive vice president of payments system consultants Benton International, and Paul A. Tomasofsky, vice president for advanced products at NYCE Corp., an electronic payments processor. Rene Pelegero, director of global payments for Amazon.com, continues to serve as a fourth eCPC co-chair. He was appointed in February.
At its next meeting Nov. 15, industry representatives will present a variety of e-commerce payment solutions and panelists will address security issues in a wireless e-commerce environment. The eCPC has about 40 member organizations.
EFTA is a trade organization dedicated to the advancement of electronic payment systems and commerce. Members include financial institutions, information processors, technology companies, ATM owners and manufacturers, Internet and e-commerce technology firms, and virtually all shared ATM systems in the U.S.
