Q2 gross merchandise sales at South Korea’s Gmarket rise 260% year-to-year

Gross merchandise sales at South Korean e-marketplace Gmarket rose 260%, to 453.75 Won (US$573.28) from 206.63 Won (US$217.85) a year ago, Gmarket said today.

For the first half of this year, Gmarket’s gross merchandise sales totaled 1.013 trillion Won (US$1.068 billion), which was just under the 1.08 trillion Won (US$1.14 billion) that it report for all of 2005, it said. Gmarket is located on the web at Gmarket.co.kr.
