Amazon adds a magazine stand
The books section of Amazon.com is looking more like a real-world bookstore. Amazon today launched a magazine site that allows consumers to subscribe to hundreds of magazines. Just as with other products offered at Amazon, the magazine section offers editorial reviews of the magazines and gives customers an opportunity to register their opinions about magazines.
Amazon also is offering free electronic gift cards for shoppers who give a magazine subscription as a gift. Customers can access the magazine section from Amazon’s home page or from the directory page (www.amazon.com/directory).
Amazon will offer magazines alongside relevant products in other areas of the site.
