Richard Everett departs as president of West Marine
Richard Everett, president and chief operating officer of multi-channel marine supplies retailer West Marine Inc., is resigning to pursue other interests. CEO Peter Harris will assume the role of president, and other senior executives will assume the duties of COO.
Everett, who is also resigning from the West Marine board of directors, will remain during a transition period, West Marine said. “Rich has been an integral part of building the company into what it is today,” Harris said. “He has seen us through tremendous growth, including two major acquisitions, international expansion into Canada and numerous new store openings.”
West Marine, the 83rd largest online retailer, according to Internet Retailer’s Top 400 Guide to Retail Web Sites, operates two retail web sites, WestMarine.com and BoatUS-Store.com, a catalog and more than 380 stores. It also operates a wholesale port supply division with a web site and stores.
