U.S. Robotics agrees to distribute ad- and cookie-blocking software
Braintree, MA-based interMute Inc., developer of AdSubtract, a program that blocks ads from appearing on consumers’ computer screens, has reached agreement with U.S. Robotics to bundle the AdSubtract software with U.S. Robotocs modems. U.S. Robotics is the number one brand of modems.
With this agreement, the AdSubtract software comes bundled with the three largest selling modems—Broadxent and Zoom Telephonics are no. 2 and 3—and with five of the six leading modem manufacturers, the company says.
“U.S. Robotics is the recognized leader in modem technology worldwide and
the addition of our software with their legendary product line is a great
win for us and showcases AdSubtract as the standard for Internet ad blocking
and cookie management technology,” said Ed English, CEO of interMute.
“We pride ourselves in our ability to offer our customers technology
solutions that optimize their everyday computing and Internet connectivity
experience. interMute’s AdSubtract is a very powerful tool which offers us
the ability to not only put the leading Internet ad blocking technology into
our customers’ hands, but also allows us to offer a significant improvement
in Internet performance,” said Frank Sugino, product line manager, U.S.
Robotics.
