Another survey of shoppers says 22% will buy online this year
More than one-fifth—22%--of consumers will purchase holiday gifts over the Internet this year, about the same as last year’s 21%, says a new survey from The Conference Board. Last year, 90% of those shoppers were satisfied with their experiences, says the survey of 5,000 households, conducted for The Conference
Board in November by NFO WorldGroup, a member of The Interpublic Group of
Companies.
The most popular items for online purchases will be toys and games, which 43% plan to buy online. The next most poular is books, which 40% plan to buy, then apparel and footwear at 33% and CDs, at 31%.
