BroadVision Powers New Commerce Portal for Travellink
Travellink’s Personalized Self-Service Travel Programs Reflect Each Company’s Provider Agreements, Travel Policies and Employee Preferences
REDWOOD CITY — November 19, 2003 — BroadVision, Inc. (Nasdaq: BVSN), a global provider of self-service web applications, today announced that Travellink, a joint venture between SAS, Tele2 and Amadeus, has upgraded its innovative travel site to BroadVision One-To-One® Commerce™ 7 to take advantage of the features and functionality in BroadVision®’s latest commerce application and to build on the success of their previous BroadVision-powered e-commerce site.
Travellink is a full-service online travel agency that allows companies to register online and customize the site to reflect their own provider agreements, company travel policies and employee entitlements. Employees can then take advantage of web-based self-service to make their own travel plans – knowing the arrangements they make will be consistent with company guidelines. The result is greater ease of use for employees and dramatic cost savings for the company. Customers that spend 500,000 euros a year on travel, typically save 20,000 euros a year by using Travellink.
The site provides 24-hour access to best prices and realtime availability information covering 500 airlines, 60,000 hotels and 15 rental car companies. By consolidating all travel records in one place, the system makes it easy for companies to analyze travel patterns to continuously improve travel policies.
“There are three main drivers motivating companies to use our Internet service,” said Peter Carlsson, CEO, Travellink. “Availability of continuously updated information, control over company data and cost savings from getting the best fares and reduced service fees for online bookings. BroadVision enables us to provide a secure Internet service that brings those elements together in a highly personalized solution that meets the needs of companies and their employees.”
Earlier this month, Travellink earned the top ranking in a survey of local travel sites conducted by Aftonbladet, one of Sweden`s leading newspapers. Results were based on ease-of-use, accuracy of price quotations and best price for a test booking from Stockholm to Bangkok.
“Travellink is a great example of how BroadVision’s personalized web applications can simplify business processes,” said Warren Utt, senior vice president of worldwide field operations, BroadVision. “By incorporating workflow and compliance into the online solution, employees can serve themselves without spending time and energy researching policies and procedures.”
BroadVision has over 25 customers in the travel industry – including Aer Lingus, Air France, Club Med, Iberia, Indian Railways, Japan Airlines and Rail Europe – that are using BroadVision web applications to power and personalize their commerce portals.
