Drugstore.com, inc. Celebrates Its Four Millionth Customer

Rapidly Growing Online Drugstore Honors 4 Millionth Customer in New York City

BELLEVUE, WA – November 19, 2003 – drugstore.com, inc. (NASDAQ: DSCM), the leading online retailer of health, beauty, wellness, personal care, and pharmacy products, announced today that it recently served its four millionth customer.

“We are thrilled to welcome our four millionth customer,” said Kal Raman, president and CEO of Drugstore.com, inc. “In the four and half years since the launch of the drugstore.comTM Web site, we’ve continued to expand the selection of items available, making it the destination of choice for millions of customers.”

The four millionth customer, Andrea Elliot of New York, works as a lawyer for a high-tech company in New Jersey. A first-time customer, Elliot was attracted to the Drugstore.com Web site by a “free shipping” offer. After browsing some of the 17,000 products featured on the Drugstore.com Web site, Elliot selected several new baby items, as she is expecting her first child – any day now.

“I had heard of Drugstore.com for several years but was living in Hong Kong, so I did not have the opportunity to place an order,” said Elliot. “Ironically, I just learned that Drugstore.com recently launched international shipping, so I can share that with my overseas friends. I recently saw a “free shipping” offer and thought it would be a great way to order some of our immediate baby needs without the hassle of carrying bags back and forth to our apartment. This turned out to be a great way to check off some `to do` list items without the hassle of hitting the stores. Not only was I able to save some money and a lot of time, but at Drugstore.com, I was reminded of several other items that I needed while checking off my list of items and found several products that you don’t typically find at a regular drugstore.”

Today, in celebration of this milestone, Drugstore.com CEO Kal Raman is sending Elliot a personalized Drugstore.comTM order, valued at $500. The gift package will contain some of the most popular and unique products from each of the various Drugstore.com stores. Some holiday favorites to be included are the Polar Heart Rate Monitor Watch, the Hot Hot Hot Water Bottle by Jane, Inc., and a set of Bongers Massage Tools to ease holiday stress. In addition, Raman is sending Elliott a $500 gift certificate for the Drugstore.com Web site, ideal for any future baby needs or last-minute holiday shopping. Elliot will also receive a three-month supply of personalized vitamins through the Vitamin Advisor found at the “Dr. Weil Recommends” store on the Drugstore.com Web site.

“Women like Andrea know that shopping at the Drugstore.com online store is convenient and saves them time and money,” said Kal Raman. “We greatly appreciate Andrea’s patronage and look forward to serving our next million customers with the same outstanding service, unparalleled selection, and great prices that exemplify the Drugstore.com™ experience.”
