Interstate Batteries uses the web to expand its product line
Dallas-based Interstate Batteries, known as a leading seller of automotive replacement batteries, is expanding into other batteries and is doing so on the web. Interstate Batteries today launched InterstateBatteries.com, which features batteries for all uses. But InterstateBatteries says it cannot offer car batteries online due to federal regulations. The site will feature a locator service for customers to find stores that sell Interstate car batteries.
Along with the selection of batteries, InterstateBatteries.com offers entertainment information, such as Winston Cup Racing news, and news from Current, the company`s publication on batteries.
"As the recognized leader in automotive batteries, we will apply our industry expertise to providing a full-range of batteries for the home, office and beyond,” said Harold Ferrari, Manager of eCommerce for InterstateBatteries.com. “Our goal is to make battery purchasing less confusing and more convenient for our customers."
InterstateBatteries.com also features a section for business customers, where purchasing managers can set up online accounts, receive special pricing and free shipping, and personalized customer service from an account manager.
The new web site will also launch a game Dec. 7 featuring Interstate Batteries` NASCAR driver Bobby Labonte. Users will drive a replica of Labonte`s race car down a busy street and deliver energy to people carrying battery-powered accessories.
The company will continue to distribute its automotive batteries through its network of 200,000 authorized dealers in North America, as well as its own chain of Interstate All Battery Centers.
