Casual Male Selects ATG as Foundation for Commerce Site Re-launch
Leading retailer turns to ATG Commerce to meet the needs of its rapidly expanding online business
CAMBRIDGE, Mass., November 24, 2003 - ATG (Art Technology Group, Inc., NASDAQ: ARTG), a leading provider of innovative software applications for commerce and customer self-service, today announced that Casual Male Big & Tall, America`s leading retailer of men`s big and tall clothing, has selected ATG Commerce to serve as the platform for the re-launch of its casualmale.com commerce site.
Having launched more than 475 retail locations and a popular catalog during its 30-year history, Casual Male first went online in 2000. Over the past two years web sales have grown four fold and are expected to double again for 2003. To accommodate this growth, Casual Male identified the need for a more scalable, flexible commerce platform and, after evaluating a number of vendors, turned to ATG.
"The growth of the online business made a more scalable and independent site a necessity," said Jack McKinney, CIO, Casual Male. "ATG`s scalability was unmatched while its manageability was very attractive in terms of what we hope to accomplish in the future with the site."
Casual Male will re-launch the casualmale.com site in 2004 with implementation services being provided by Professional Access, a certified ATG partner. Casual Male plans to make significant use of ATG`s Scenario Personalization as part of its effort to enable the line-of-business user to make site changes (i.e. promotions, campaigns, etc.) aimed at deepening customer loyalty and reducing shopping cart abandonment.
"Casual Male is a great example of the dynamic that has taken place in the retail industry over the past few years as companies have integrated their various sales channels," said Phil London, senior vice president of products and technology, ATG. "By putting in place a scalable, feature-rich platform such as ATG, Casual Male is not only assured that it will be able to handle future online growth, but also use its site as a tool to enrich its customer relationships."
Casual Male required a strong, delivered solution, and a partner that has exceptional implementation skills with the ability to perform critical knowledge-sharing with the internal Casual Male team. The ATG/Professional Access combination proved to be the ideal fit for such requirements.
