Muhammad Ali jumps into the e-commerce ring with Ali.com

Muhammad Ali now has his own e-commerce site.

Ali.com launched this week as the former heavyweight champ celebrated his 66th birthday. The site sells Ali posters and books as well as memorabilia, such as boxing gloves autographed by the boxer who modestly called himself “the Greatest.”

As part of the launch yesterday, visitors to the site were able to chat with Howard Bingham, Ali’s longtime friend and photographer. Similar chats with other members of Ali’s entourage will take place in the coming months, according to Muhammad Ali Enterprises LLC, which launched the site.

“We will be creating an online global community of Ali fans and we want everyone to be part of it,” says Ronald A. DiNicola, president and CEO of Muhammad Ali Enterprises, a subsidiary of CKX Inc. CKX owns the rights to the name, image and likeness of Ali and of Elvis Presley, and also owns rights associated with the American Idol television show.
