EasyAsk Appoints Barry Horwitz to Vice President of Strategy
Also Promotes Richard Wood to Vice President of Development
LITTLETON, Mass.-- Sept. 14, 2001--EasyAsk Inc., a provider of precise search technology for e-commerce sites, enterprise information portals and wireless applications, today announced that Barry Horwitz has joined the company as Vice President of Business Planning and strategy. The company also announced that Richard Wood has been promoted to Vice President of Product Development.
Barry Horwitz, Vice President of Business Planning and Strategy, will be responsible for developing business strategies and marketing plans that enable EasyAsk to meet its growth objectives. He joins EasyAsk from Sprockets.com, Inc. where he was co-founder and chief operating officer for the past three years. There, he helped grow the company from business plan to a live service, and raised over $8 million in venture capital. Previously, Mr. Horwitz was a strategy consultant with The Boston Consulting Group, as well as with his own independent firm. He has also held senior management positions in marketing and strategy at retailers Bradlees and ShopKo Stores. Mr. Horwitz graduated magna cum laude from Colby College, and received his MBA from Harvard Business School.
Richard Wood, newly promoted to Vice President of Product Development, has been with EasyAsk since April 2000. Dr. Wood has over 20 years of software development and management experience. He was previously Vice President of Development for AICorp. He earned his BA in Mathematics at Dartmouth College, and his PhD in Computer Science at the University of Maryland.
