Companyıs Catalog Commerce Technology Chosen By Conectis (France), Electrospeed (UK), Williams Medical (UK)

YORK, UK, and CHICAGO, USA, Sept. 13, 2001 ‹ Pindar Systems, the leader in catalog commerce technology, has added three new European B2B customers for its Catalog Management System (CMS 3.3).

Choosing Pindarıs CMS are Conectis, a French computing and telecommunications network appliance supply specialist; Electrospeed, a leading UK electronic components distributor; and Williams Medical Supplies (WMS), the UKıs leading distributor of medical equipment to general practitioners.

"From computing and telecommunications to electronics and medical supplies, Pindar Systemsı technology is rapidly becoming the standard for B2B catalog commerce applications because of its superior ability to manage and deliver product information to drive sales across multiple channels," said Kurt W. Dressel, Pindar Systems chief marketing officer.

Conectis will use Pindar Systemsı CMS as a multi-language product knowledge and marketing resource for print catalog production. Its catalogs are published in 12 European countries. Eventually, the Pindar Systems solution will be extended through integration with the companyıs ERP (enterprise resource planning) system to support all divisions, including sales, logistics and its customer help desk. Future plans include use of additional CMS features to produce Conectisı online catalog (www.webco.fr).

Conectis is a French subsidiary of Rexel Group (part of Pinault-Printemps-Redoute), a world leader in distribution of low and medium-voltage electrical parts and supplies. Rexel plans to look closely at the Conectis/Pindar Systems project with a view to possible use of CMS across the entire Group.

Electrospeed will use Pindar Systemsı CMS to centrally manage and maintain all product data, images, technical specifications, drawings, diagrams and data sheets for its 1,500-page annual catalog, regular updates and special promotions; as well as to drive up-to-date information on 45,000 products to its online catalog (www.electrospeed.com).

"In evaluating the CMS solution, it was clear that we could gain significant workflow efficiencies that would have a real impact right across our whole business," said Electrospeed General Manager Nick Spetch. "Pindar Systems was able to demonstrate how we will achieve a clear return on our investment."

Electrospeed, a recognized leader in distribution of interconnection, enclosure and power products, is a part of Electrocomponents, plc.

Williams Medical Supplies will use Pindar Systemsı CMS to help manage its multi-channel commerce requirements, including three high-quality, market-specific catalogs, targeted mailings and its online catalog (www.williams-medical.co.uk). WMS is the leading supplier of medical equipment to the UKıs 11,000-strong general practice physician market.
