UNIVEG Begins European Rollout of EXE`s EXceed

Selection Underscores EXE`s Leadership in Delivering Supply Chain Execution Solutions to 3PLs Worldwide

DALLAS--Sept. 17, 2001--EXE Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq:EXEE), a leading supply chain execution solutions provider, announced today that UNIVEG Group of Companies in Belgium has selected EXE`s EXceed(TM) to streamline management of its supply chain, enabling the company to deliver superior customer service as it moves fresh goods quickly and accurately to distributors/vendors across Europe.

UNIVEG, a specialized third party logistics (3PL) provider and comprised of 35 companies, enjoys annual revenues of 450 million Euro. The distribution logistics services organization primarily handles fresh goods, including the import and export of fruit and vegetables, fresh and bulb flowers, convenience products and ready meals. The company also provides chilled transport. Novaveg is the fresh produce business unit of UNIVEG. Rollout of the EXceed solution will begin with Novaveg`s fresh produce operations in Portugal, Poland and Belgium.

"EXE Technologies was the only company of its kind to offer a world-class, highly functional warehouse management system (WMS), true labor standards control and administrative management tools necessary to run the daily operations of Novaveg`s temperature controlled distribution centers," stated Walter Van Looy, senior business manager, UNIVEG. "EXE`s prevailing geographical coverage and expertise and track record in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), retail and 3PL sectors was key to our decision. We were aware of EXE before making the decision to purchase EXceed. A recognized worldwide retailer and UNIVEG client has used the EXceed system for a number of years, so we knew the capabilities of the software and had experienced the business benefits well in advance."

"We`re delighted to be involved in this project," commented Ir Jaap Groot, senior vice president and managing director EMEA, EXE. "Novaveg`s need to work with a single vendor in Europe underscores the strategic advantage of our geographic reach. EXE has invested in a network of 13 offices which provides worldwide sales and implementation services our clients can rely on."
