Xchange Integrates Global Marketing Organization Under Proven Leadership
Michael J. Collins brings career benchmarked by massive growth in revenues and brand awareness to Xchange
Boston, Mass. - September 18, 2001 - Xchange, Inc. (Nasdaq: EXAP), which specializes in converting customer relationships into profit, today unveiled a global marketing organization unified under newly appointed Chief Marketing Officer and Senior Vice President, Michael J. Collins. Mr. Collins will be responsible for the strategic direction and execution of all global marketing activities at Xchange, and will report directly to President and CEO Chris Wagner.
Specifically, Mr. Collins will oversee Xchange`s initiatives to drive demand, adoption and usage of Xchange`s best-in-class technology by Global 2000 organizations, as well as its product marketing function. He will spearhead a tightly integrated strategy that funnels market feedback crisply into product functionality, and expand market awareness and demand creation by creating regular forums to bring Xchange customers and prospects together.
Mr. Collins has more than 15 years of experience driving integrated marketing programs that fuel explosive growth for technology companies. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President of Global Marketing at Metiom, where his marketing team partnered closely with sales and channel marketing to drive a six-fold increase in revenue. Prior to Metiom, Mr. Collins led corporate marketing at $250 million enterprise software provider SAGA Software. He also ran global corporate marketing at Iomega, and was a key member of the team that introduced the award-winning Zip drive, which grew revenue from $140 million to $1.7 billion in 30 months.
"Michael`s unmatched skills brings Xchange a brand new, truly integrated approach that unites our marketing functions into one seamless group," said Chris Wagner. "Xchange is distinguished among competitors by the quality and depth of our client-base, and Michael`s cross-functional marketing leadership will be the cornerstone of our strategy to drive revenue by focusing on current customers, prospects and channel partners," he said.
Doug Rose, President of DRC GROUP, a marketing consulting firm that helps clients identify and expand markets by targeting their customers and their needs, described Mr. Collins as "having a unique talent for building a team that can make every marketing dollar work like a thousand bucks." He added, "Michael brings big time integrated marketing skills to Xchange, using methods that produce results for both top line and bottom line growth. He`ll hopefully do for Xchange what Monday Night Football did for the NFL."
"Michael`s addition to the Xchange team is definitely a key win for the company," said Martin Flynn, President of TypeA Communications, a leading full-service brand development agency. "His experience in driving strategic initiatives, building important marketing alliances and developing effective sales channels has always resulted in success."
"I am energized to join a company with such a strong client base and the industry`s most effective offerings," said Collins. "These assets are rare for technology companies today, and I see a tremendous opportunity to create value by reinforcing our solutions with specific functionality prompted by market feedback, strengthening our channel partners, and reaching out to expand our existing client relationships," he said.
