Auctionworks introduces auction management service for excess goods

Atlanta-based Auctionworks, a provider of online marketplace sales management services, has launched a division dedicated to the liquidation market to help retailers list and sell surplus products across online marketplaces such as eBay.

"Excess inventory has long been an enormous financial burden for retailers, distributors and manufacturers," said Alec Peters, CEO of Auctionworks. "Auctionworks provides companies with access to online marketplaces and the professional services necessary that can significantly improve their margins for liquidation inventory."

Auctionworks` services include: inventory listing and management, sales strategy support, sales performance reports, integrated payment solution, and pick, pack and shipping capabilities.

Auctionworks until now has focused on the selling of new merchandise at auction.

"What was once a painstaking process is now as simple as sending Auctionworks a spreadsheet of product listings which are automatically uploaded on eBay," said Jack Kiley, chief administrative officer of TechSmart, which sells reconditioned and surplus computers through online marketplaces. "By doing so we`ve been able to increase our product listing exponentially, conserve quality time and ultimately move more merchandise."
