First-half web sales grow 50% for PC Connection
PC Connection Inc. is closing in on the day when e-commerce will account for one-third of total sales. For the first six months of 2006, e-commerce sales for PC Connection, No. 33 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide to Retail Web Sites , accounted for 31% of total sales of $788.5 million compared with the first six months of 2005, when the web made up just 25% of total sales of $674.5 million.
For the period of January through June, web sales for PC Connection totaled $246.7 million, an increase of 50.5% from e-commerce revenue of $163.9 million for the same period in 2005.
For the second quarter e-commerce sales rose 45.1% to $127.3 million from $87.7 million in Q2 2005. Total sales for Q2 rose 16.4% to $408 million from $350.7 million in Q2 2005. "We are pleased with our second quarter performance,” says PC Connection chairman and CEO Patricia Gallup. “Our strong financial results demonstrate that PC Connection is working harder to provide enhanced information technology solutions, improve operating efficiency and increase shareholder value."
