Contiguously speaking, no more ground shipping charges
In an effort to drive traffic and sales and increase customer loyalty, Shopbop.com has initiated a free shipping program. Effective immediately, the e-retailer of women’s clothing will offer customers in the contiguous 48 states free ground shipping on every item.
Shopbop.com, No. 194 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide to Retail Web Sites, updates its site every day and features a highly visited “What’s New” section, the company says. It believes using free shipping combined with constantly changing web pages will boost the number of shoppers who visit the site on a daily basis, thus increasing overall traffic.
The e-retailer, operated by Bop LLC and now a part of Amazon.com, reached $34.3 million in sales last year, a 46% increase over $23.5 million in 2004.
