Web services-enabled Commerce and Relationship Management products allow ATG customers to manage customer relationships across channels
CAMBRIDGE, Mass., - December 15, 2003 - ATG (Art Technology Group, Inc., NASDAQ: ARTG), a leading provider of innovative software applications for commerce and customer self-service, today announced the general availability of ATG 6.2, which includes Web services-enabled capabilities for ATG Commerce and the ATG Relationship Management Platform. With ATG Web Services, organizations across all industries gain the ability to more easily and cost-effectively deliver relevant and meaningful user experiences across multiple sales channels and customer touch points.
In response to market demand, ATG`s new Web services capabilities leverage the explicit Web services industry standards (SOAP and WSDL) and eliminate many of the common complexities and associated high costs of integrating online and offline information. Although multi-channel sales strategies have begun to mature recently with the increase in online channel investment, many traditional enterprise integration technologies designed to link touch points together into a single view of the customer have failed to offer the ease-of-use and cost-effectiveness initially promised.
"In today`s environment companies need to create consistency between their marketing, selling, and servicing activities, across all touch points, for building and managing strong customer relationships," said Padmanabhan Vishwanath, vice president of east coast operations at ATG VAR partner Professional Access. "Without the ability to access data and leverage functionality from mission critical applications, it would be nearly impossible for our customers to maintain consistency of experience. ATG Web Services will allow us to work closely with our customers to ensure that they are effectively managing those relationships throughout the entire customer lifecycle."
Through ATG Web Services, companies will have the ability to easily and quickly access ATG Commerce capabilities such as inventory, catalogs, and pricing without having to install middleware products. Also, ATG Web Services will enable customers to more readily leverage ATG`s industry leading Scenario Personalization (SM) throughout their organization to provide the most relevant information, promotions, and products at the most opportune time.
By allowing disparate technologies to access ATG Commerce and the ATG Relationship Management Platform, business users can unlock important data in real-time to quickly make decisions leading to reduced costs, increased sales and lower total cost of ownership. Additionally, ATG Web Services will allow Microsoft .NET users to leverage the power and scale of ATG solutions in their own environment without having to change platforms.
"Companies have recently become serious about moving beyond static online channels toward sophisticated, commerce-enabled and relationship-building sites that are unified with multiple facets of their businesses," said Phil London, senior vice president, products & technology, ATG. "By Web services-enabling our commerce and relationship management products, we are helping companies achieve this goal of a holistic customer experience. With ATG`s release of 6.2, we have taken another step forward in our continuing commitment to deliver industry-leading commerce and self-service applications our customers require to fulfill their overall business objectives."
