UPS rolls out electronic return labels
UPS is aiming to make the returns process easier for businesses and consumers with a new electronic return label product. The service, available through UPS OnLine Worldship software, enables businesses to e-mail shipping labels directly to consumers who need to return merchandise. Consumers can click on a link in the e-mail to retrieve the label, print it and send the package back via UPS. The e-mail also gives customers links to UPS information and locations, a tracking number and a receipt. The Electronic Return Label product costs 75 cents per transaction. UPS handles returns for more than 11,000 companies.
