
Ask Jeeves picks Altura International for mall work
Altura International, architect, builder and developer of online stores and shopping malls, will build a custom catalog shopping area on Ask.com. According to Media Metrix, Ask Jeeves at Ask.com receives close to 11 million visitors each month.
This new customized mall feature will provide Ask.com visitors access to more than 200,000 products in more than 600 name-brand catalogs such as Fisher-Price, Hammacher Schlemmer and The Sharper Image. Products from these merchants and others will be integrated with the products already available online in the shopping area at Ask.com.
The Altura Merchant Operating System is the only multi-vendor, multi-lingual, multi-currency merchant operating system capable of giving consumers around the globe at different web sites and on different classes of devices, access to thousands of products, the company said.
Altura's flagship shopping mall, CatalogCity.com registered an estimated 2.5 million visitors for November, a 200% jump in the number of visitors for the same period in 1999.
