Former Salesforce.com exec joins Commerce Planet as VP of technology
Rory Roybal, a former technology executive for Salesforce.com, has been named vice president of technology for the Inventa e-commerce division of Goleta, CA-based Commerce Planet.
Roybal, who has more than 28 years of experience in technology engineering and management, will oversee the Iventa Dashboard product line development and inter-company technology integration related to building business tools, services and enhanced e-commerce solutions, Commerce Planet CEO Tony Roth says. Inventa provides a suite of products that handle operations including customer loyalty programs, online payments, marketing and web content management.
"The platform Commerce Planet has created provides custom solutions for enterprise e-commerce clients and I believe my expertise will help the company roll out its small to medium size business offerings and realize its growth potential," Roybal says.
At Salesforce.com, Roybal served as senior director of engineering responsible for mobile technology, software development and client-server architecture.
