IP synaro® WebStore Customers on the Rise
Irvine, CA - December 18, 2003— Island Pacific and
Page Digital, an alliance partner and leading
developer of multi-channel retail software
applications announced the successful implementation
of IP synaro® WebStore by several of its customers.
Through the IP synaro® WebStore, buyers are
experiencing a real-time, seamless integration between
their online storefront and their fulfillment systems, providing them with enhanced service when placing on-line orders.
Consistent with Island Pacific’s commitment to the
retail industry to be the low-cost, high-quality
solutions provider, the alliance offers an emerging best-of-breed solution for both B2C and B2B multi-channel marketers. "Since entering into a definitive agreement to acquire Page, our relationship has grown even stronger. Island Pacific is gaining a solid foothold in the e-commerce marketplace," noted Steve Beck, COO and President of Island Pacific. "The IP synaro® WebStore product is a perfect complement to Island Pacific’s product line."
Island Pacific welcomes Autom (www.autom.com ), Longs Electronics (www.longselectronics.com ), ProSource (www.prosource.net), Publishers Quality Library Service (www.pqlsbooks.com), Our Designs (www.ourdesigns.com), and TechnoScout
(www.technoscout.com) to its growing family of
customers. In addition to the aforementioned IP
synaro® customers who have launched and had success
with IP synaro® WebStore, there are an increasing
number of IP synaro® customers who are planning to add
the IP synaro® WebStore product as well.
According to Mike Bishop, Vice President of Software Development, "The Java-based development environment used in the IP synaro® WebStore, enables a high degree of customization and extensibility, critical to our customers trying to quickly adapt to a rapidly changing competitive climate. The object-oriented Commerce Components used in IP synaro® WebStore tremendously speed up the application development cycle; this makes real-time order status and UPS tracking numbers available in Phase I of each customers’ implementation."
The component-based system makes integration with any
front-end application a plug and play proposition. The
WebStore Integrator, an integral component of the
WebStore, is commerce-oriented middleware that uses
XML tags to link WebStores such as Autom.com to
powerful legacy ERP systems. Written in Java, the
synaro WebStore facilitates the real-time transfer of information to and from the Website utilizing the business rules already set in place by the e-tailers. The IP synaro® WebStore components enable eCommerce companies to offer their online customers the ability to participate in special promotions as well as the ability to indicate specific items for gift-wrapping.
